Description

Sometime after Ash and Skye became friends, Ash proposed the idea of rotating his Pokémon between Professor Oak's lab and Tohjo Ranch so that they could experience new things and meet Skye and his own Pokémon.

Charizard first came to the ranch during Ash's break before he went to Kalos with Alexa. While there, he meets eyes with Platinum. And immediately wants to kick her ass. Platinum doesn't give him the time of day at first, but when Charizard makes fun of her being too weak to be Skye's self-appointed protector--she punches him in the fuckin' jaw. Cue Ash and Skye having to break up a fight between their most strongest Pokémon.

And that's how Charizard and Platinum became rivals, with Platinum swearing to become stronger than Charizard and defeat him in battle.

Yayyy, more interactions and relationships within Ash and Skye's Pokémon circle!

Both Charizard and Tyranitar as a species actively seek out to do battle with strong opponents (mentioned in Charizard's Ruby/Sapphire Pokédex entry and Tyranitar's Omega Ruby Pokédex entry), so Charizard and Platinum were primed to battle from the moment they evolved into the final stages lol

Skye, being Mr I-Don't-Battle, is pretty freaked out by the idea of his Platinum battling it out with Charizard. So in the picture, he's actually trying to protect Platinum from Charizard and not holding her back (cuz who really can physically hold back a Tyranitar). Dude has a near-indestructible Pokémon and he's still worried about her getting hurt lol

Also Platinum shaking her fist at Charizard is both a funny sight-gag and a legit fuckin' threat, as Tyranitar are able to flatten mountains with one hand.
