Skye is only in the hospital for less than a week when the Chairman calls for Ash to keep up his end of their deal now that Skye had been found. Ash knows he can’t ignore Rose; his people had saved Skye’s life and he was personally paying for Skye’s hospital treatments.

But he doesn’t want to leave Skye after only just getting him back, especially with him stuck in hospital. Skye doesn’t want him to leave either, considering he only just realized he wants to spend the rest of his life with the guy on top of not wanting to deal with his recovery without him.

Ash tries to think about the positives, that the sponsorship does sound like fun and he is always interested in becoming a better and stronger trainer. He promises that he’ll come and see him as soon as he can manage, knowing that Rose is going to keep him busy for the foreseeable future.

Ash’s time as one of Rose’s sponsored trainers is intense, to say the least. He is immediately put on a prolonged media tour so that he can be properly introduced to Galar (and the world at large) as Rose’s newest talent. Outside of the public eye, Ash has very little freedom to do whatever he wants. He is given life coaches, who put them through rigorous training regimes and even put him on a strict diet. When he is given free time in his busy schedule, he’s too exhausted to do anything except sleep.

Leon has a similar kind of schedule, but he has long gotten used to it and it is more lenient overall.
