The lady of 1000+ voices Cree Summer (sister to Rainbow Franks and daughter to Don Francks) is known as voice or Elmyra Duff. However before that she was seen on the Cosby Show spinoff A Different World as Freddie. Freddie attend the HBCU Hillman College (that outside scenes were of Spellman College on the show. Yes there was a real Hillman College that was no longer operational when the show started).So why not have Elmyra attend Hillman (yes HBCUs do have white students) with familiar girls in Penny Proud and Dijonay Jones.
It should be noted the voice of Dijonay Jones is Karen Malina White-who was a cast member on A Different World's final season with Cree.
And while Cree does not voice Penny Proud-she did enter the world of voice acting as the voice of Penny on Inspector Gadget season 1 with her father.
The song Elmyra is singing it the theme to A Different World-the late Aretha Franklin sang the theme for seasons 2-5.
