Asked around for some ideas for userpics. Someone suggested giants, including one cyclops, one two-headed, at least one female... so to kick things off here's Polyphemus. And... I still suck at drawing noses. Got to work on that.
And of course Lovecraft compared (or rather, contrasted) Cthulhu with Polyphemus in 'The Call of Cthulhu', when Gustav Johansen and William Briden fled R'lyeh on the Vigilant. Only rather than raging on the shore, Cthulhu went wading after them.
