In the first Jurassic Park movie, we were greeted to the wonderful island Isla Nubar to not only John Hammond, but also the Brachiosaurus, which was the first dinosaur in the Jurassic Park movie series that we actually got to see not counting the Velociraptor at the beginning through brief glimpses. In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as the ship Arcadia was sailing away, the characters got to witness a Brachiosaurus die a slow and painful death as the volcano smoke engulfed it and we got to see it rise up in a bipedal posture like it did in the first movie.

When I was watching Fallen Kingdom in theaters, I began to tear up a bit when the lone Brachiosaurus was on the dock seemingly calling out and I was saying to myself quietly, "We gotta help her." To make even more emotional, director J.A. Bayona confirmed that the Brachiosaurus was the same individual seen by Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler in Jurassic Park, meaning that individual is the first and last dinosaur we'll ever see on Isla Nublar now that it's a volcanic wasteland.

Today would also be Jurassic Park creator Michael Crichton's 78th birthday, as he did back in 2008 after an aggressive battle with throat cancer. I thought it would be fitting to upload this image on this particular today as he was the one who created Isla Nublar through the original Jurassic Park novel.
