Description
The empty darkness of the nightengulfs what once seemed corporeal.
Unbound by duties of the day
my tired soul begins to feel.
Drugged by lust for sleep and dreams
my mind beholds the truth at last,
glimpses the hollowness yet to come
and weeps with longing for the past.
Shivering with grief and fear
I mourn lifes lost simplicity
and times when every future held
great promise no despair for me.
The world's a fearful place by dark,
all filled with vast complexity,
and so I lie awaiting light
and superficiality.
