Thank you very much! Yes, this is a HDR, made of 12 pictures. I merged them with photomatix and altered the colors with photoshop.

Danke fΓΌr den Kommentar! Das hab ich in einer alten, verlassenen Chemiefabrik in Bitterfeld aufgenommen. Genauer gesagt in deren alten Labor. Ein Freund von mir arbeitet im Nachbarwerk und muss da ab und zu mal rein. Tja, und einmal hat er mir nen Helm in die Hand gedrΓΌckt, die Kamera in der Werkzeugtasche versteckt und hat mich zum fotografieren reingeschmuggelt.

Yes, the shoe was already there. I left it there, because it adds a bit of an arkward feeling to the pic.

Agreed. If it was a tennis shoe or something a squatter might wear then it would seem like it belonged. Since it's more formal, it lends a feeling of panic and an urgency to leave.

Somehow reminds me of Metro 2033 book cover. Awesome shot and use of filters. Where was the photo taken?

Thank you very much The pic was taken in an old, abandoned chemical facotry in Bitterfeld, germany. This shot shows the lab of the factory.
I kept the shoe in the image (it was there all the time ^^) to enhance the feeling of lonelieness. But this works out better in the other variation of the pic ([link] ).
Btw: The "Metro" series is great!
