Description

In my version of the Kingdom Hearts universe, Shadow was exploring the forest of a world, when he heard what sounded like crying. He investigated and found a small creature, a Riolu, huddled against a tree, with an unconscious wolf pack surrounding it. Shadow stepped closer, alerting the Riolu, and received a Power-Up Punch, breaking a rib or two. The Riolu continued to attack and Shadow spent an hour dodging the attacks. They both collapsed from exhaustion. Shadow offered the Riolu some chocolate, which, after hesitating, eventually took and ate. Shadow gained the little Riolu's trust and took him in as a pet. Shadow, at the time, didn't know about Pokémon and simply thought he Riolu was just some kind of dog. He began calling him, "Rio," since the Riolu kept saying, "Riolu," when it spoke. Shadow and Rio fought and trained, side-by-side everyday, causing Rio to eventually evolve into a Lucario, catching Shadow by surprise.

After Shadow assisted in saving Hyrule, the Breath of the Wild version, he and Rio separated because Rio wanted to stay and help wipe out the remaining monsters. Shadow returned soon after, with his then girlfriend, Jaile and the three of them left Hyrule, and made a surprise stop in the Aloha Region, Pokémon, which is Jaile's home, and met Fen, a Braixen, which would become Rio's girlfriend. While there, they discover a mega stone, Lucarionite, and a Key stone. Shadow had the key stone imbedded into the handle of a combat knife, he carried, and Rio's mega stone was attached onto a black and silver chain, which is used to hold his cape on his shoulders. The cape, was actually a sort of baby blanket Rio had, when he was a Riolu, which he would use as a cape he when played Superhero. Shadow worked a little bit of magic on the blanket to protect it from getting dirty or torn. This way, Rio can be the superhero he always wanted to be.
