What kind of rig does it take to handle what amount of polys? Please don't tell me you were able to move the highpoly model smoothly in the viewport.

fantastic work. I sure hope you have a job in the game industry because if not I am screwed. the only critique I have is making a ambient occlusion map and baking a lightmap and putting those in your diffuse it should make everything pop and stand out a bit more.
