i look at canon prequel dan and i’m like. i reject your reality and substitute my owntweaked my design again and tried to merge him with the other ocean remake design a bit. also currently trying to formulate my own fanon that involves dan’s father buying him into the guard solely to further their family’s social status and fortune against dan’s own wishes so dan puts the bare minimum into everything he does and reluctantly assumes the role of captain. want to make dan’s living self at least somewhat sympathetic and not the irredeemable dick the prequel comic wants me to believe he is
