I was woken up in the middle of the night by the sounds of thunder. I could also see constant flashes of light from the lightning storm that was rolling through. I decided to take a picture. It was so dark I wasn't sure how it was framed or how it would turn out, just snapped the photo when the lightning struck.This lightning storm began one of the worst wildfire seasons in the Bay Area that I have ever seen. Fires sparked in Big Basin, Mt Diablo, Mt Hamilton, and probably some more fires in the North (but I don't remember where anymore). I'm in the East Bay so it was like a triangle of fire with us right in the middle. I want to say that was the week when the skies tuned orange and we basically had a full day of nighttime because there was so much smoke that the sun got blocked out. That combined with the pandemic, I mean, wtf....
The storm was scary but I could never have imagined that was only the beginning. I'm not sure if I regret taking this photo, it gives me the creeps a little...I have mixed feelings about it xD
