Chapter 3

Jiro and Kiyoshi traveled for many days when Kiyoshi asked, “ hey Jiro?” “What Kiyoshi?” “When are we going to hunt for food?” “ It is getting late. Maybe we should set up camp and hunt for some deer to eat. Just hand me the ax so I can cut down some trees to make a tent.” “ But Jiro,” Kiyoshi said, “ I left the ax at home.” “ WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?!?” Jiro exclaimed. “ Because.” Kiyoshi said, “ I didn’t think we would need it.” “ Why would we not need and ax to chop wood in the forest!” Jiro said, “ it’s not like we would need it or anything!” “ Sorry Jiro.” Kiyoshi said sadly. “ It’s alright little bro. We can get new tools at the next town. Besides, I need more bullets for my shotgun.” So they continued along the barren path until they came upon a sign that read, “Shinohara: three miles ahead.” “ That’s a very long walk Jiro” Kiyoshi said, “I know.” Said Jiro, “ but it is the only town for twenty more miles.” “Hey Jiro.” “What Kiyoshi?” “ Didn’t Yaso say something about this place being our home town?” “ I think so, but I don’t know for sure.”

They continued walking until they came to a gigantic stone wall covered in spikes that had a big oak door guarded by a guard. “ Halt! Who goes there?” “ Jiro and Kiyoshi to enter to gather supplies to help our friend Yaso to escape from Taro’s lair.” Suddenly, there was the blast of horns and the sounds of people shouting. “ What is going on?” asked Jiro “ The king’s long-lost sons have returned!” the guard exclaimed. Jiro and Kiyoshi were swept up from their feet and carried into the Palace Square. “ What is going on Jiro?” Kiyoshi asked, “ I don’t know, but I think I like it.” He leaned back, putting his whole body weight onto the people carrying him. They were taken to the castle and place in front of the king. “ Who are these king looking men you have placed in front of me?” “ Sire.” The servant said, “ these two fine men are Jiro and Kiyoshi, your two long-lost sons.” With those words, the king leaped up into the air with glee. “ My lost boys have returned!” “ Father,” Kiyoshi said, “ we have returned to gather supplies for we are going to rescue Yaso from the clutches of the dark Taro in the Dasuke realm.” “ That is a very risky mission, are you sure you want to do it?” “ Yes father. It is our responsibility to do so.” “ well then you may have as many things as you need for your journey.”
