Description
Enlarge for better details! In creating semi-realistic illustrations is now where most of my spare time goes. This one is part of a series in progress for my portfolio.
Done in Adobe Illustrator CS5
Tools used:
Gradient mesh for the bottle's main metallic body and the sprinkler's tube. The metallic cap, however, is a gradient fill.
The glass is several shapes with different multiple gradient fillings and transparencies. Same technique, but simpler, used for the box and background.
3D-rotate on the type & logo (logo drawn with the pen tool) and on the bottleβs reflection on the box (blured and masked).
Extra touches with blur and/or outer-glow on lines and small added shapes, transparency-masks (the shadows, for exaple) and... that's about it, basically.
Took about a whole day.

Wow, well done! Thanks for including so much of your process in the description, it's always so neat to hear how others work, and I'm self taught in Illustrator, so it sounds like you might be the one to talk to if I blow it up somehow lol A very chic and clean piece of work

Thanks!
And thank you for actually reading it. I feared it might be kinda lame to describe it all.
btw, looking at your gallery, it's pretty clear you don't need anyone's pointers. Very cool stuff!
