Description The next ship on the roster is RMS Queen Elizabeth (not to be confused with Queen Elizabeth 2, who I haven’t designed yet, or with the queen of England), fleetmate and sort-of-sister to Queen Mary!

Design Notes:
-Her outfit is sort of a hybrid between her Queen Elizabeth and Seawise University forms, though unlike, say, Majestic she leans more toward the latter than the former. This can be seen through the colors of her coat and the cut of her dress.
-Specifically, her coat colors are based on both her paint scheme as Seawise University (white hull) and her rust-covered wreck (which also influenced the brown of her gloves). The yellow flowers on her hat likewise reflect the color of Orient Overseas Line funnels, which are still yellow today!
-Her dress is based on a cheongsam/qipao, reflecting how, as Seawise University, she was owned by C. Y. Tung, a Hong Kong-based businessman. At the time of her purchase and conversion, China was undergoing its Cultural Revolution and it was generally looked down upon to wear a cheongsam. This gives her the impression of being either an ignorant foreigner or part of the bourgeoisie, either of which could and probably do apply. As an added bonus, that could be a really subtle reference to how it’s speculated that the fire she suffered was caused due to conflicts between Chinese Nationalists like Tung and the Communists who made up much of the workforce; the Communists were the ones who would’ve disapproved of someone wearing a cheongsam, much like they’d disapprove of capitalist businessmen like Tung. That part is accidental, though; what I’m going for is more “she wants to fit in, but doesn’t fully understand the culture into which she’s entering” rather than “it’s symbolic of the economic and political conflict that may have caused her demise.”
-The hat she’s wearing is based on a little cartoon I saw once depicting her and Queen Mary gossiping about United States, who’s following behind them with a shit-eating grin and a giant cigar (or blunt). In the picture, Elizabeth is wearing a hat like that, so I drew her with a similar one here.
-The art deco design on the hem of her dress was supposed to sort of resemble fire, referencing her ultimate fate. I don’t think it looks very fiery at all, but it is pretty! The gold on black does look a little White Star Line-y, though.
-Her hair and eyes match Queen Mary’s! In her case, the white stripes look less age-related and more like, well, stripes, but they’re there. She also has the same eye shape and gold flecks in her (otherwise red) eyes; Mauretania 2 will have eyes like that too, albeit maybe without the gold.
-Her shoes are patterned after her original Cunard livery!

Personality:
Where Queen Mary is rather demure and restrained, Queen Elizabeth is chatty and exuberant. She’s incredibly friendly and outgoing, and much like her hero and mentor figure Aquitania she’s able to get along with almost anyone she meets, even managing to befriend the likes of Normandie! Her cheeriness and eagerness to be involved and talk to others make her highly popular among her fellow extroverts, although more introverted ships tend to have more mixed feelings.
Despite her bubbly, outgoing personality, though, Queen Elizabeth is more than capable of shutting up if need be. As her exemplary war record shows, she’s able to be very mature and serious when she wants to and was capable of doing so even from a young age and without a full understanding of her situation; this maturity helped her both to survive the war and to get along with less-friendly ships and sailors throughout her career.
Interestingly, she’s always felt a strange sort of kinship with Britannic, despite not knowing her prior to becoming a human. Aquitania’s stories were vivid enough to give listeners a solid idea of what her old friends and family were like, and to Queen Elizabeth, who’d been thrust right into a world at war before she’d gotten a chance to sail as a liner rather than a troopship, Britannic’s story was especially relatable, if a bit frightening. She’s explained this now that they’ve actually met, and although Britannic thinks it’s a bit weird she does appreciate that Queen Elizabeth knows of her at all.
