I like animated optical illusions. They cause an inner struggle where we have to question if what we are seeing is real, or if the eyes played a trick on our brain.. For a delicate moment the brain (our center of intelligence) and our eyes (not known for intelligence) are at odds. "Did I really see what I thought I saw?" The brain impulsively requests that the eyes look AGAIN, and in the end the brain almost always wins and says "That's an optical illusion, you morons. You're not really seeing that. Get back in your sockets." Still... that confused moment we have while we collect visual data... before the brain can make a proper judgement call ...that moment is priceless. It's the super unknown... and if its a good illusion that effect can last indefinitely. But we usually must decide whether its just an illusion... or it's NOT an illusion and we are in fact seeing what we thought we saw. The latter tends to bring an immediate halt to the fun, and there will always be those that will deny being momentarily confused. I say if you had to look twice you've pretty much been ILLUDED. My very favorites are the ones you can look at over and over and still have that inkling of a doubt that says "Wait a minute... is that REALLY doing what it looks like it's doing?
