The render needs to be a bolder colour and maybe those little waves of light beams should look more like an ion cannon. Great stuff.

pretty nice .. i like the render ... unfortunatly some of the brush work is really blurry you really have to make it sharper i think it would look really good ..
maybe you could use some more colors too ?
