"Move you." Cree said as she shoved her prisoner in the back up the stairs to Father's mansion. Her prisoner, a UKA Lieutenant, looked back at her distastefully and kept walking. Two bulky teenagers aimed their lasers at the officer and followed Cree. She stopped and jammed the barrel of her wrist laser into the officer's chest as she knocked on the door.
"I've seen better mansions," the officer said, "This place looks like a dump. But then again it's nothing that you Teenagers are used to."
"Quiet brat." Cree snapped as the door opened and a particularly gleeful Father was standing on the other side of the threshold.
"Ah, Cree. I see you brought a friend."
"What the heck happened to you?" the officer said, looking at Father, "You look like some sort of burn victim."
"SILENCE CRETIN!" Father bellowed as a fireball combusted around him, the officer stepped back and stared more, looking indifferent.
"Mystery solved then."
"We caught this one after we took out his ship, seemed like he didn't want to leave his stupid friends behind."
"Simple, because there were wounded and I wanted to defend them until help arrived. But no, you had to kill them all."
Father chuckled as he walked inside, Cree shoving the back of the officer and making him follow. "Looks like the mighty and fearless United Kids Alliance has a weakness. Inability to leave those who are deemed worthless behind."
"My troops may not have been able to fight but they sure would've been able to soon enough. Believe me when I say this you grumpy old man, the UKA will find you and they will wipe all of your military out. I've seen it happen before."
"Fool!" Father shouted, turning around, "You and your army may have defeated my military in battle, but that's about to change. As I speak hundreds of both Adult and Teenage soldiers are being given more powerful weapons, soon we will take the fight to you. First we will wipe out your ground forces then, once we've got our fleet back up, take out your starship fleet. Oh, and I'll personally make sure that none of you are spared."
The officer snorted in reply. "You can try to kill all the UKA troops here but it'll be a lost cause, more will show up. Millions more, perhaps billions. We have a fleet consisting of thousands of ships and if we can't beat you, then we can call in the Government's Galactic Enforcers. Just the mere sight of the Eclipse and you will either surrender or die from the sheer shock alone."
"Well then," Father said, leaning closer to the Officer, "It's either you be a good child and tell us everything we need to know to destroy you or else we'll force you to tell us."
The Teenagers grinned evilly and cracked their knuckles. The officer sighed and looked away for a minute, seeming deep in thought. A small crunching sound was heard and he looked up at Father smiling, his face going white and blood dripping down the corner of his mouth.
"Not on your life…or mine."
He let out a single long breath then collapsed backwards, laying still with his eyes rolled up in the back of his head.
"He's dead." Cree finally said after a minute of protracted silence. "Must've been some sort of death pill he took."
Father groaned and looked away. "We may have found out a few small things about the UKA but unfortunately we had our hopes set too high on this one. I should have expected their officers to do something drastic instead of talking. Next time, Cree. Find me a soldier who's new to the UKA, that way we can break him quickly."
Cree signaled for the Teenagers to leave. "What do you want to do with this one?" she asked as she kicked the limp body of the officer.
"Dispose of it before it starts to stink up the place."
Cree nodded and grabbed the officer's arms and started to drag the body out of the room. It was a good thing that the former soldier didn't weight much, after she had tossed the corpse onto the front porch she noticed something glinting on the floor next to her. Cree kneeled down to pick up the Officer's slightly broken HUDspecs. She turned them over with her fingers until she was looking through them, she was impressed with the glasses since they had a full Heads-up Display. However this one was fuzzing a little from damage but Cree noticed a small blinking red dot in the corner of the left lens. Holding the frame up to her face she could see tiny words that read out; "Recording. Sending live feed to UKA Tactical Command." Cree dropped the HUDspecs and stomped on them, letting out a small annoyed groan of realization that her former prisoner just allowed the UKA to see inside Father's mansion.
Lawrence wasn't kidding when he said that his commandoes would clear the Super Convention Center in less than a day. However she had to let her recently freed Operatives adjust to their new freedoms and the presence of the UKA. Most of her Operatives shot the UKA soldiers unfriendly glances, the soldiers however ignored them and instead socialized with members of their own faction. The few KND operatives who tried to mix with the UKA got different reactions depending what branch they went to. So far Numbuh Three-sixty-two was told that the UKA's army was much friendlier than the other three branches, especially the Starfleet Marines. She sighed and continued to look out the window of her personal office inside the Super Convention Center, it was an awe inspiring sight. UKA starships were hovering over the city, large squadrons of fighter jets screamed overhead and dropships lazily drifted here and there, dropping off and picking up troops and supplies. A small knock was heard on her door.
"Come in," Numbuh Three-sixty-two said, turning around. Lawrence walked in, dressed in a fearsome black uniform with a large trench coat and an officer's hat, and behind him were the commandoes who liberated the Super Convention Center; Delta Force. They almost looked as if they had the same camouflage pattern as Lawrence's combat uniform but it was different. The various dark and muddy colors appeared to be more blocky than rounded, the other difference was that the weapons they carried and that they wore Australian boonie hats with the same camouflage. They were slightly smaller than the rest of the weapons the UKA used, the barrels were shaped like rectangles and the magazines cylindrical. She had no idea what kind of weapons they were, but if these commandoes were the only ones she saw with them then they must be deadly.
"Are you ready yet Rachel?" Lawrence asked, "Everyone's up in the convention center waiting for us."
Numbuh Three-sixty-two nodded. "Yes, you have the treaty?"
"Right here," Lawrence said as he pulled a metal tube out from under his trench coat, "I had this one personally made for this treaty, after all this is a big step for winning this war."
"So who needs to sign it?"
"Just me and you, nothing special."
Numbuh Three-sixty-two smiled for a second but then it faded. Lawrence saw this and walked over to her.
"Is something wrong?" he asked gently.
"It's nothing…just something that's been on my mind."
Lawrence sat on the desk, "Oh? Do tell."
"It's just that, since we freed the captive operatives they've been feeling somewhat, well, distrusting of anyone over the age of thirteen and since your military has a lot of people who are past that age it seems like they want to fight them."
Lawrence nodded as Numbuh Three-sixty-two spoke. "No worries there, Rachel. A handful of my soldiers are thinking the same thing too. However I'm sure that both of us are not going to let this thing happen, the last thing that this war needs is for a civil war to break out within our own factions. Trust me I've had to deal with one civil war in the UKA and I'm not too keen on having another one."
"The UKA had a civil war?" Numbuh Three-sixty-two asked.
"Oh yes, a dark year in our history. One of which I try not to forget so that I don't make the same mistakes again which led up to it," Lawrence said as he shuddered, "Anyways, let's get this treaty signed."
Numbuh Three-sixty-two followed Lawrence as he turned and started walking through the hallways. There were a number of operatives and soldiers in the hallways, both sides staring at Lawrence and Numbuh Three-sixty-two, the commandoes keeping them back. She wanted to try and start some sort of conversation but nothing came to her mind as the intensity of what was about to happen was nearing, Lawrence shot a glance over to her then averted his eyes back in front of him.
"I should warn you now, there's been some…improvements…with the security," he said.
"Like what, Lawrence?" Numbuh Three-sixty-two asked.
"Your second in command operative Fanny, or that's who I assume she is, demanded that the Kids Next Door hold the field. I would've agreed to this but my second in command, Adrian wanted the UKA in there too. He has a few trust issues with the KND. So in a compromise we've equally divided up the whole convention center for the both of our factions, now we've got the UKA on one side and the KND on the other side."
"Oh, um…how much security did you bring?"
"I just wanted my commandoes but sadly Adrian wanted to add a few other things. Now we've got WarMechs, Slashers and the Military Police out there being backed up by Starfleet Marines. Tensions have never been higher, so be careful. One wrong move and your entire organization will be destroyed."
"I'm sure that you don't want that to happen either."
"No I don't," Lawrence said, "We're joining forces for one very good reason, the freedom of kids on this planet. And hey, if you want you could help us out in the rest of the galaxy."
"I think we'll stay here, thanks," Numbuh Three-sixty-two chuckled. Lawrence smiled and nodded.
"Very well, I'll be sure to leave something behind so that you can contact us if you need our help. Anyways, we'd best get ready, the show's about to begin."
