Hello everyone! I'm rising from the dead to show you some pictures.

Last year, I went to La Réunion Island with a friend of mine and stayed for two weeks. And yes, I took maaaaaaany pictures. For the next weeks, you'll see some of them.

And here we start with a picture taken into the crater of the main volcano of the island (actually, people living there call it "the volcano"): le Piton de la Fournaise (the Furnace piton). Because, yes, you can walk into the crater, for hours and go as close as possible of the place where the smolderings are. To be honest, we didn't go that close because the weather was awful (rain, wind, fog).

It was very impressive. As you can see, there is some plants here and there, but there is no animals at all (not even a lizard or a bug). The place is just minerals. And you feel so little.

For the record, when we were there, the volcano was about to erupt. But guess what? Yes, it waited for us to leave the island to do something (we were back on sunday morning, he erupted during the night between sunday and monday).
