Awesome job but next time try to burn some scales in, it would give your dragon some more of detail and bring it to life a bit!

This is lovely. Do you use watercolor pencil to get the colors?

Thanks so much
You're right deviantArt doesn't even have a pyrography section, but there are three DA pyrography groups that I've found, and there are wonderful artists doing wonderful things there:
Pyrographers [link]
Pyrography-Central [link]

Thanks a million. I love Asian Dragons too! There are such spiritual beings, and one of my all time favourites to draw, or pyrograph.

No problem! And out of curiosity, what's a pyrograph?

Pyrograph literally translates as fire writing, where writing was burned into wood, but nowadays the term generally includes pictures burned into wood too. So the outline and shading are done by putting a hot metal nib onto the wood and burning the wood to a certain degree. For shading you use a lower temperaure, and lighter contact with the wood, and for outlines you use a higher temperature. This dragon is probably not pure pyrography since I added some colour to it, but the owl in my gallery is all pyrographed other than a bit of colour on the eyes so you can see the difference.

Oh! Alright. I know "pyro" means fire so I knew it had something to do with fire.
Sounds neat!!
