Only if you do it incorrectly. Most of the time, it's just a scrunched-up strip over the bridge of the nose (not actually covering the nostrils), but some of the more devious have been known to experiment with what you'd call "breath play", which is cutting off the ability to breathe for very brief periods. It's more commonly known as Erotic Asphyxiation, but fortunately, that's not what's going on here!

It looks great and it's only a risk if she puts up a fight. Tape over the nose along with a strip under the chin help keep the jaw immobilized and there's no way she's going to get it off.
