I did a little bit of body study and anatomy practice yesterday, actually using these novel things called "reference images" that I've heard so much about. Crazy the kind of technology we have these days, huh?
Anyway the study got a little out of hand, as things tend to do, and now here I am with a fully rendered sketch of Eldwynn (my reinvented/alternate version of Misha from my D&D game) in his flashiest dancer's garb! Shiny iridescent cloak and loose cloth are just trimmings on the performance--he knows it's really his skill the crowds come to see. But it can't hurt to show a bit of fur for posterity~
I'm super proud of this. Just in terms of technical aspects it's probably one of my best drawings of all time. The proportions are actually reasonable, the muscles look like muscles, I might be able to fool someone into thinking I'm a real artist with this one! I need to do these kinds of studies more often. Go back to basics, actually try to learn anatomy instead of just drawing stuff from memory.
