Description
A falling star fell from your heart
And landed in my eyes...
I took the stars from my eyes and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you
Florence & The Machine ~ Cosmic Love
Realism has always been not enough for me, so I decided to take new paths, in search for some fresh forms of expression in the fine arts. Some of you might recognize some influence of Yoann Lossel, one of my favourite and most inspiring artists these days, because of the golden foil being added to the drawing. It was a very interesting and extremely meticulous attempt for me. Shaking hands and deep breathing - absolutely forbidden during the process. And idea for the abstract lines was partly inspired by Gabriel Moreno, another genius from nowadays in art. Take some time to check out his amazing art, if you havenβt already. Other than that, it is some good old white pencil-on-black paper drawing. Mixing undiscovered techniques with the old ones makes the process of creation even more fun and helps to add a new dimension of fantasy elements in a completely different way.
Other than that, contemporary dance is just so ispiring, it was only a question of time when the temptation to render the dance concept on paper will win me over.
Iβve to say, I enjoyed creating this picture very much and I sincerely hope that you too, dear viewer, will enjoy the final result.

This is very different from you but it maintaist that high quality and powerful scene building I've come to expect from you.Β
I love that this is a bit darker and low key then some of the other things you've presented.Β

You don't submit often, but when you do, it's always something really amazing! Great work and good luck with future experimenting! At first I thought there was one person but then I saw hands sticking out that don't belong to him and then the extra head - interesting idea. I have no idea what and how you work exactly with that thing called golden foil, but I love and only know that one artist you mentioned that works wonders with it, added him recently to my watch. Anyway, love the work, the composition, the details, and touch of gold.

Thank you for the kind words, so happy to hear them! The idea was to make the girl-dancer seem like coming through the male dancer (the head and one side of his breast), so initially,Β there are two dancers, even though it might be a little difficult to notice at first, because of this 'unexpected' interaction between the two subjects.Β The golden foil is like some tiny and very thin flakes of gold, which you can hardly touch with your fingers, because it sticks to them instantly.
So instead it required using a pair of tweezers for sticking the foil onto the paper surface, covered with some glue. Very fun technique, even though it was a real test of patience, as well.
