I needed a break from art, and I've been wanting to do this meme for a very long time, so I thought this was a good opportunity to. <3
I not only picked my favourites, but explained why, below.
There's SO many awesome fancharacters to choose from, so this was quite hard to do..

Hedgehog: Crystal the Hedgehog - Original Art: [link] - designed by *Crystalhedgie
This one was really hard to choose, because there's a bunch of other hedgehog characters I just love.. Like Streaks , Ciara , Dody , Aliona , Kinomi , S.T.A.R. , Clau , to name only a few. But Crystal's design has to take place as my favourite, I just love her personality, her outfit, her attitude, everything about her. She's definitely one of my top favourite fancharacters. So much effort has gone into Crystal, and seeing her grow over the years makes me so excited to see what else Tiffany will choose to do with her in the future. <3 Definitely a favourite!

Echidna: Pendulum the Echidna - Original Art: [link] - designed by ~Pendulonium
Pendulum has always been just SUCH a great character in my opinion. He's got so much uniqueness to him. I love the designs along his quills and bangs, and how his tail is much longer than a normal Echidna's, really adds originality to him! The thing I love MOST about Pendulum is how he's able to freeze time.. it's just such a creative attack, and how his boots can show the timer of how long he's frozen time for is just SO cool. You can really see how much effort and detail went into him, and definitely paid off!

This was a really close tie with *Drenholm 's Glacia , because they're both such awesome characters. ;__; But Cryo's colours presuaded me to pick her. I adore her design so much, omg arctic foxes <3, and those colours are just so beautiful. Her eyes are just stunning as well, and I just love the fact that her element is ice. Being obsessed with winter and arctic foxes, Cryo definitely has to take this spot. She's just beautiful.

I cheated with this one I know. :< I just couldn't decide between the two so I'm cheating and putting them both in there. I LOVE Ranny's design because her colours are so unique, and she's such a happy-go-lucky character, not to mention extremely adorable. ;__; Bruce is just too cute himself, and I can't say no to yellow omg. <3 He's got such a spunky attitude, and he's such a bright character, not to mention dem feetz. <3 These two have to tie, sorry!
Also I'm sure you all know I ADORE *MrEchoAngel 's Echo Angel of course, but he is NOT a fancharacter, he's her own creation. <3 And one of my favourite OC's! But he doesn't count for this. :<

Dog: Erin the Coyote - Original Art: [link] - designed by *Mechanical-Brides
I'm just going to assume coyotes are fine for this category. Honestly it's hard to find a "dog" character that I actually like, but Erin has always been one of my FAVOURITE fancharacters. Her colour scheme is so unique, I never would have expected that blue for her hair to work SO nicely with the colour of her fur, but her design is just so pleasing to my eyes <3.. Not to mention she's got one AWESOME outfit to top her off! She's definitely my favourite for this section.

Cat: Fannie the European Black Cat - Original Art: [link] - designed by =mARTz-90
This was also a really tough one.. I ADORE =mARTz-90 's other kitty Eldora and of course =R-no71 's Neige the Cat but... I fell in love with Fannie the second I first saw her. Her design is so simple, but I just LOVE the style he's given her. It's Sally-like, with very cute boots, gloves and a little scarf. Her personality is too cute and I just can't get over how much I LOVE his character. <3

Squirrel: Kookin the Squirrel - Original Art: [link] - owned by ~Genesis-Orbit
I had to pick Kookin.. Keith is one of my best friends and Kookin just resembles him perfectly, the happy attitude, the cool style, so of course I gotta pick him for this one! I love the short spikey hair, normally it's hard to pull off hair like that and make it still look Sonic-y, but Kookin does it with ease! Love the blue colour of his fur too.. it's such a gorgeous blue. ;__; Definitely love Kookin!

Lizard: Moloch the Devil Lizard - Original Art: [link] - designed by ~Streaks-the-Hedgehog
Moloch absolutely grabs this spot. I love Lizard characters as it is, but Moloch is one of the best designed fancharacters I think I've ever seen. He looks like he could fit into the whole Sonic universe just perfect. Streaks did a great job designing him, not to mention his anthro form is super hot omg. >: *cough* But yeah, Moloch is definitely one of my absolute favourite characters, he's extremely unique, and an overall AWESOME character!

I'm pretty sure everyone could have guessed this one. |D Ella's by far one of my favourite fancharacters. I adore her design, her elegance, her use of weapons, personality, outfit, colours... literally everything about her, I just love. She's such a beautiful character and will always be one of my tops for sure! But of course being a bird lover, there's a few other bird characters that came really close to being my top favourite, including Cleave , Trigger , Mandarin , and Scorn are definitely included. <3

Insect: Sting the Dragonfly - Original Art: [link] - designed by *v-16
I'm not a huge fan of insect characters, just cause I'm not a huge fan of bugs. B( LOL But Sting always stuck out to me. *v-16 has a knack for designing some REALLY awesome characters, but Sting is probably my favourite of hers. I adore his colours, and she manages to make him really look his age, which is 12. He has a really awesome outfit, I especially love those goggles she's given him. For not being a fan of insect characters, I gotta say surprisingly I do actually REALLY like Sting.

Wolf: Aci the Wolf - Original Art: [link] - designed by =acierr
Not only am I a HUGE fan of the girl's art itself, but her character is one of my absolute favourites. Aci is so beautiful, her colours are just stunning, and omg arctic wolf <3. AHEM. I love her fur pattern around her eyes, and the eyes themselves are just gorgeous. The yellow is a perfect contrast to her cool colour scheme. Her appearance really matches her personality perfect, she appears playful, yet reserved, she really just completely ace'd this character for sure!!

Big Cat: Asha the Cheetah - Original Art: [link] - designed by *MetalPandora
I've loved Asha from the moment I first saw her, way back when. <3 She's got a great design, her fur is just beautiful, and there's no way I couldn't just love those gorgeous orange locks. ;D Her outfit suits her so nicely, and once again I just love the colours, her purple eyes are stunning. As a character, it's clear that *MetalPandora has put SO much effort into her. She's a great, well developed and pretty character for sure. <3

Other Reptile: Amethese the Dragoness - Original Art: [link] - designed by *Scorn-Priyt
Dragons count as reptiles right? ... Sure they do! Of course Amethese had to be in here somewhere. I've always loved her from the first time I saw her, she's got lovely colours, especially for her hair, it's very unique! She's got such an adorable personality, and mister *Scorn-Priyt likes to have her and Crystal as rivals, and it's always so much fun to draw them together. Ame's just an adorable character, with an excellent design!

Other Rodent: Skye the Porcupine - Original Art: [link] - designed by ~Cheezyem
There's not too many porcupines that look TRULY like their species.. they always end up looking like hedgehogs, but there are quite a few good ones out there for sure. <3 But Skye absolutely takes this spot, she has such a unique design, she's clearly a porcupine, but has her own unique feel to her. Her quills are different from the norm, and her outfit is stunning. I love Skye's personality as well, she's a very well thought out character for sure!

Sea Creature: Snap the Pistol Shrimp - Original Art: [link] - designed by *Dody-Inferno
Snap is probably one of the most original fan characters I've seen. Her design is actually quite simple, it suits her perfect in my opinion. She's such a unique character, she does not wear any clothes, yet Dody makes it look perfectly normal. I really love how she's able to deafen her opponents with the sound of her claw snapping. So not only is she SUPER unique to look at, but she's even got REALLY well thought out attacks, too! Definitely love Snap. ;__;

Other Character: Celeste the Albino Mink - Original Art: [link] - designed by *kiss-the-thunder
This one was so hard to choose.. but I couldn't submit this without Celeste being somewhere on it. <3 She's such a gorgeous character, probably THE most beautiful fan character I've seen to date. She's such an innocent, angelic character, and I love that about her. She has this extreme sweetness to her that just makes you want to gush everytime you see her. She's got a beautiful, light colour scheme, and a very beautiful outfit. Not to mention there's so much behind this character, she's got an incredible story. Definitely a favourite!
