Description It's an old picture, but it lay unfinished until yesterday

By the way, sometimes people ask me to do a tutorial. Well, I'm sorry, but I don't think my way of painting is unique or something, and, honestly, I'm not a person to teach others
I myself have a lot to learn. There are lots of wonderful artists doing tutorials, showing the process of work and so on

Well, to be quite honest, I myself would love to know how you do this. I'm totally useless with my tablet. In my opinion, your a very good and skilled artist. Would love to learn a few tricks of the trade if you though one day decide to make a tutorial or two.

I think you wouldn't offend anyone by doing a tutorial, + it's fun to do anyway so you have nothing to fear
But the choice is yours, of course

This is really cool. It reminds me of a video game environment. And I think others could benefit from a tutorial from you, even if you don't think you're that good. That's silly, you're very good.

i want to play a game that looks like this. i care not for super realistic brown maps when wonderful hand coloured/drawn areas like this can be explored [ah saga frontier you were a beautiful couple of games]
but i digress, love this, so....fancy :3

It might not be unique, but you can do it really good. You're creative with colour, while at the same time keeping atmosphere in the picture. You can make very detailed things, without having them look boring.

Ofcourse, you have a lot to learn. But you know so much more than i do. If i try to colour something, it usually ends up being in either distorted space or some strange, 6-dimensional form. Or, it gets discontinued because it looks so horrid that i can't move myself to continue it.

I would gladly ask for a tutorial, or even just some random snapshots when you're working at something (or a movie of it). I just refrain from asking, because it is annoying. (And this i know from other fields of expertise, such as worldwideweb application building with ajax). One of the most annoying things when you have reached some level of understanding is a newb walking in and saying "i want that, here's 5 bucks."

Very nice but a bit weird : support of the city by the trees are not really visible.

LordLouis [2011-07-19 07:38:48 +0000 UTC]

Don't do a tutorial.
There are too many out there, and 99% suggest that just by following your tutorial, someone would actually be able to paint like this.
There are so much things going on in this picture such as perspective, lighting, form and colours, value.. a single tutorial doesn't quite cope with that.

Enjoy improving instead. So will I, looking at your pictures

Cute! Makes me want to play one of those annoying online massive world games where while the game is all cute little buildings, the actual interactions are all about big politics among huge groups of users. Le sigh ^-^

I LOVE this. Everything about it is appealing.. There's a level of quality and detail here that I normally wouldn't expect on a painting that seems like a simple concept. I also appreciate the break from stereotype-- it seems like every "forest village" has to be made of sticks and huts. : P

Anyway... great job! : D
