Description
| Name: Gaynmede | Type: Moon | Class: Inferior | Element: Rock/Water Hybrid | Owner: Jupiter |Celestial Beings are the true forms of the orbs we see from earth. They're close to being gods, as some of them have the power to cultivate life. A Celestial Being has no gender, sexuality, or need to reproduce, but most retain a need to socialize, or at very least, keep together in groups as they float across an endless void. There can be all types of Celestial beings, as the only definition of them is their ability to float organically in space.
Moons are an Inferior status of celestial entity, acting as servants for their masters whom they rotate around indefinitely, never straying too far. The type of relationship between an owner and a moon is less based on ownership than it is on mutual respect, at any time a moon can leave the service of a planet to join another, which would bring the planet shame in its society. Planets have an obligation to take good care of their moons, but there are cases of relationships spreading to every possible category, including the unfortunate ones. Dwarf Planets are also known to have the ability to recruit moons. Moons themselves decide to take the company of the larger entities almost instinctually, in return for their service moons are granted protection from suns and other aggressive planets that may seek to consume them. Moons exist at the bottom of the social tier in a system, as things like asteroids and comets are not included in their hierarchy.
Ganymede, also occasionally referred to as Jupiter III, is not only the largest moon in Jupiter's service, but the largest moon in Sol's entire system. It is roughly double the size of Luna and 8% larger than the planet Mercury. Ganymede was always a massive satellite, but is known to be outwardly gentle and patient compared to other, spunkier, moons. Initially, it had spent a greater majority of its life trying to become the first life cultivating moon in Sol's System and studied the art of water until it could gather and roughly control it. Due to the brunt of it's efforts it began to form an Oxygen layer on its surface, as well as carry more water than all of Earth's oceans combined. However, its dreams were for naught when it was recruited by Uranus and had its massive size abused as a pawn of war. Countless defenses cost Gaynmede two of it's legs: the left front leg and the right back leg, as well as its eyesight. Fearing for Ganymede's health, Jupiter challenged Uranus and took the moon under its wing after the grim victory. Ganymede carries a massive hole in its chest as a reminder of the darker days, but currently enjoys retirement under Jupiter's care, where it acts as more of a counsel for advice then a dog of war. However, Ganymede's dreams of cultivating were crushed with its current residence, as the distance from the sun still keeps it far too cold to hope to keep any life alive.
