Description
This was a follow-up to my Spy Kids 2 drawing, commemorating the movie's 20th anniversary...so this one was next.

The keyword for this was "eye-popping", referring to the (sometimes forced-in) 3D effects this movie had to offer, so I wanted to draw their weapons sticking out to the fourth wall along with the top and bottom text. Since I didn't have Microsoft Office, I used...Blender for the 3D text...Yup, I'm putting rendered 3D models in my art this time! As it was my first experience using the program, it's not 100% perfect despite closely following specific tutorials and overall adjusting it to my liking. I based the text off the opening logo of the movie. I ended up running into a wall, noticing "dents" in the text model. Though I could just airbrush it out, it'd look weird. In the end, I traced over the model I made in Blender into SAI...which did take me extra time and longer than usual.

As for Mitzi and Murphy's outfits, they were based off Juni and Carmen's except with some twists; I used the goggles from a new year's drawing AJMarek did once. I originally also designed this with a colour scheme matching their outfits but I changed it to yellow and pink to match the main characters' outfit colours. I had trouble with the background; I initially wanted to be a simple cloud background (to reference the fighting scene in the movie), but I wanted to make it stand out more by balancing hues and stuff, resembling the poster and giving it a very cinematic feel.
