OMG! Right down to the wire! Evel Knievel's got nuthin' on me. oy...So this is my Air Colossus! Sorry about my sloppy handwriting... basically, what I'm trying to convey is that the multiple wings flap in a sine wave to keep Fteros aloft. Also, the wings are transparent "ghost" images save for the bones, which are solid. His wings represent the creatures that have the natural ability to take to the skies; bird, bat and insect.
"Fteros" comes from the Greek word "ftera" which means either "wing" or "feather" given the context. His tail is a whirlwind/tornado and because of this and his multiple wings, he can remain in the air indefinitely. I colored his body to match the color splash of the Air elemental, although it kind of makes him look like stone... he's supposed to look more like a stormy sky with insect scales and tiny feathers to create the illusion.
I had fun making this! I get the sneaking suspicion that the programmers for RIFT will look at this and think "Oh man! That looks like so much fun to animate!" or "Oh sweet merciful Jesus... whyyyyyy..." (I'm hoping it's the former)
