Description 1. Sherlock Nose

Writers: Max Beaudry & Francisco Paredes

Date: August 21, 2020

Synopsis: "Sherlock Nose solves a mystery."

It's time to crack the case on why this episode is so good. This episode starts with Ms Nanny reading to everyone about Sherlock Holmes. Later, Potato is found near a broken flower pot, Gonzo becomes Sherlock Nose to prove his innocence, with Kermit as Frogson. However, all the clues he finds lead him to dead ends. This episode has a simple message on looking at all the facts before you make any assumptions. It's been done before but it works here, all thanks to Gonzo. He's quick to make assumptions on if others broke the flower pot and blamed Potato. It fits though. He's known for being impulsive and not thinking straight, but he's not acting dumb. He makes good deductions, but it's just the circumstances (like how he thinks Summer has purple paint like the flower pot, but she has blue print. Plus, he considers Potato his best friend. He would naturally not think straight since he's very dead set on proving his innocence. He at least apologizes when presented with evidence saying they're innocent. I do like how the Sherlock/Watson dynamic is shown with Gonzo and Kermit. Kermit acts like a straight man similar to Watson while Gonzo essentially acts like Sherlock if he was much more eccentric. The ending brings everything together. During snack time, he sees how the jelly in their sandwiches looks like the purple stains on the pot. That, combined with the footprints, helps him deduce that Ms Nanny accidentally broke the flower pot. She then says that it happened, and goes to clean it up. It's a pretty fun episode.

2. Block Busters

Writers: Max Beaudry, Francisco Paredes, Ghia Godfree

Date: August 21, 2020

Synopsis: "Piggy wants to spend time with Mr. Manny."

So here's an episode that fits with how the show takes typical plots yet adds some elements that make it interesting. This episode has Piggy playing Butterfly Tag with Mr. Manny, having quite a bit of fun. However, he gets called off to help everyone else. She tries getting his attention in various ways, but with no luck. This episode is about how you can't be an attention hog who demands attention from others, and realize that they need to spend time with others. Piggy helps make the episode great. While she is being very self centered, she is acting very believably though. What probably is that she doesn't exactly go too far. Most of what she does during the first half of the episode is about trying to speed things up so that he can spend more time with her. She is acting selfishly, but at least doesn't try taking out her behavior on others. She also gets done nicer moments. For example, when Kermit and Fozzie get boo boos while building their block tower, she shows immediate concern for them. When others also have problems, she also goes to help them. There's also a scene later where she's actually hesitant to have Animal knock down the block tower. She lets him do it, but this hesitance helps show that she does have control of her actions even when her emotions get the better of her. Mr. Manny himself is also in top form. He said that, as a caretaker, he has to be there for everyone. Plus, him accidentally ignoring Piggy is just from doing too much. The ending brings everything together. As mentioned, the block tower falls. She then instantly feels guilty and confesses to what she did. She and everyone else then helps to rebuild the block tower, all as a butterfly. Talk about a great way to end season 2.
