Synopsis: "Patrick becomes smart."

Many of SpongeBob's best episodes are ones that focus on the dynamic between SpongeBob and Patrick, like right here. This episode centers on Patrick accidentally becoming a genius when he hits his head. He becomes so smart that he shuts SpongeBob out of his life, putting their friendship in jeopardy. This episode is essentially the "idiot genius" plot, and it works well here. Patrick being a jerk is understandable since he legitimately wants to help others, but just acts arrogant about it. Plus, his behavior is not the depiction of all geniuses, removing any implications. It's quite an emotional episode as we see them grow apart, and enough humor to lighten things up. It ties into a nice moral on how knowledge isn't the best if it means sacrificing friendship. Now that moral is what makes this a pretty good episode.
