yeah... I had this too overly sugar-coated fluffy scene in my mind for so long now, and these dark but festive days are the exact excuse to finally paint it out!

I actually had this one planned for the 25th, but alas, we got a visit from the little nasty virus. But despite of that (and when I wasn’t able to physically do anything - thanks to it - ahum - don’t wish for it though) I was still able to finish it a few days ago.

I waited to upload it because I just can’t get the colors right! I mean, if I see it on my screen, it’s okay, but it’s just not popping out. But when I start calibrating and tweaking it just loses detail? Aaaah! I struggle with that a lot, I’m not able to find the right balance yet. I did learn a lot painting/drawing this one! I loved the light sources and how they would interact with everything! The pose was a challenge too, but although the line art itself is definitely not my best, and there are still anatomy issues, I do like how they fit together? I think? Like, touching noses, giving a peck on the forehead, maybe something more? Wholesome fluff?

The drawing is supposed to represent Brendol’s study room in a slightly abandoned Hux estate on Arkanis. Both arrive looking for answers, and while it’s too painful for Armitage (he doesn’t even want to enter the room first), Miko is able to convince him to stay by just messing up the whole place, Miko style. She rearranges it from the stoic study into a cozy spot by the fireplace (it’s abandoned; no other heating), turns the huge portrait featuring bad family memories around and somehow suspiciously had smuggled good comfort food into the estate. Everything Hux would hate at first thought, but somewhere along the way, she got through to that thick emotionally constipated skull of him, and he might actually silently appreciate it?

They spend the evening researching, talking about how to find his mother, what to do with the place, and so on. About closing chapters and opening new ones. And maybe, just maybe, hope for a brighter future.

So... happy life day (or christmas if you like ) and new year! I hope next year brings us happy and healthy times, may we live for our dreams and enjoy our time together!
