One of the things I like to do in regards to my acrylic abstracts is to first work out a palette for the painting on a smaller scale by making a smaller version on 11" x 14" watercolor paper. Ironically, I ended up selling quite a lot of these studies when I was actively selling online. They would auction anywhere from 20 - 50 USD each and cost very little in supplies and time to make. the shipping was cheap too and generally didn't require and special materials for packaging.
