Description Attending to the mechanics of doing the ink, adjusting the resolution (350 dpi) and working at a large size.  The lines themselves look alright when I set them down, initially.  But after a few corrections they get messy.  This is due to my method, which is still one of "searching-out the form," which persists at every stage of development, despite my best effort to contain it to the sketch.  So, with exercises like this, I may be getting ahead of myself.  I think I should reduce the complexity by practicing the rendering/outline technique on basic forms (ball, box, pipe, cone, egg, wedge, etc.,).  Break the task of inking into discrete components, instead of confusing inking technique with drawing.

One thing I don't quite understand is reducing the dpi after doing the inking at a high rez.  When I reduce from 350 dpi to 72 dpi, the picture shrinks to a fraction of it's size.  When I increase it on the screen to a size that's viewable, it's all pixelated.  Should I post it at that small size?  Guess the only way to find out for sure is to run some tests.
