I'm having a hell of a time with graphic design, something over which it seems that I have no control. I don't claim to well understand it, but I do recognize it when I see it. I'm studying the galleries of pros here who are graphic designers and excellent illustrators. I pick up on the how-to of everything, except what's called graphic design as it has to do with shapes. This is basic to composition, and it's not as if I have no clue about what it is and how it works - it's just that I do it so badly! The more I address it directly as I work, the worse it gets - or so it seems. So, I go through the hard drive looking for images that are pregnant with it, that are ripe with potential, unconsciously.
