Beautiful insect, big and loud like hornet. You can definately get scared by it, when it's flying around looking for it's prey. But the truth is, robber flies, even such big and scary, are not dangerous to people. They can sit on us, but not for bite or something, but rather for take a break in a hunt, that requires a lot of energy. They also like to use people as mobile watchtowers, from which they can observe the surroundings.

They are one of the best and most deadly predators of insect world, together with dragonflies and mantises. Fast and strong, they catch their prey in flight, and then land somewhere to eat in peace.
