Description
I almost forgot to submit this. This is the basement level of the Sepulcher Inn where members of the Forsaken who prefer to rest and/or recover inside a pine coffin can go. The character present here is Dalar Dawnweaver. His bio states that he was an archmage of the Kirin Tor of Dalaran that was killed when Arthas and the Scourge attacked the city during the Third War.Dalar was raised as a member of the Scourge but then freed by Sylvanas when Illidan Stormrage damaged the Frozen Throne and hurt the Lich King with his scheme involving the Eye of Sargeras. This allowed the more strong-willed undead to regain their free will and break free from the Lich King's control. We can only assume that Sylvanas played an additional part in freeing him. Assuming he's as powerful in undeath as he was in life would make Dalar one of if not the most powerful arcane spellcaster among the Forsaken.
Dawnweaver likes to say that the City of Dalaran was named after him rather than him being named after the city. The more likely explanation is that his parents lived and worked in Dalaran and named their son after the city that they loved and called home. Given his attire and type of staff he carries I could see Dalar being something like the Gandalf of the Forsaken. I would not count on him being anywhere near as jolly or personable. You could also expect him to ride an undead horse of some color.
My guess is that the coffin against the back of the room with the lid on top of it would be the one he would use during his time at the Sepulcher. It does stand to reason that he would at least have to take his hat off in order to use the coffin if he wanted to close the lid over himself. I could imagine the undead archmage using some of his arcane power to seal the coffin while he used it and ward it against intrusion and/or damage. It would also be easy to envision a message spelled out on the lid in the bluish-violet colors of arcane energy. The message would read in Common, "Warning: Undead Archmage Resting. Do Not Disturb Except in Case of ABSOLUTE Emergency! Doing So Otherwise May Result in Being Polymorphed Into Unspecified Creature for Unspecified Amount of Time!"
