Description So'liin (haha dun that name sound familiar?) is the youngest priest of the Ladayan temple. He lives in the capital, Aurel, of the Northern regions and has a problem with authority. He was abandoned by his mother when he was a toddler, left on the doorstep of one of the servants of the temple and was taken in as a sort of 'ward of the capital.' He's the only child to be raised in the temple itself. From an early age So'liin has had a very weak disposition and spends much of his time bedridden. When he's well enough to roam he ventures out into the markets secretly and snatches up any tiny thing he can filch. he has quite a collection of bobbles and trinkets, particularly statuettes of animals he's never seen before. He distrusts new comers and argues against the orders of his superiors but he is always dedicated to his work, even if he doesn't like doing it.

During one of his secret outings he accidentally witnesses a 'game' of skirmish among the new 'cargo' of the slave traders from the distant provinces. When one of the new comers, a gruff westerner with a stern face rescues him from the mess So'liin decides to take the new comer under his wing as a new bodyguard. He finds this new comer fascinating as he's never been outside the capital before nor seen individuals from other regions this deep into the central capital. The two grow very close, despite their irritating differences and soon enough Kee'ano becomes So'liin's closest and most trusted friend and father figure.

So'liin's is the 'keeper of light.' All priests and priestesses of the capital are given a title once the join and supposedly their destiny or life's path is guided by this title, which they spend much time studying. On the rare occasion a priest or priestess can harness powers or abilities that reflect their title. In So'liin's case, he has the ability of persuasion. He could heal or hurt with a single word, bend the will and mind with a song. During ceremony his position is considered one of social import and he must perform for the masses, singing, chanting, sometimes even offering short sermines. Because of his status within the temple he is most often seen wearing extravagant attire which rival the nobility, though he prefers simpler clothing made from softer materials (he's highly sensitive to certain fabrics) His abilities allow him to manipulate the short term thoughts of individuals, which is why many in the temple question his loyalties and motives, but he is entirely devoted to those he cares for and feels he owes the temple much for their cherity over the years. (but he'd never say it out loud)

As you may have guessed by now, So'liin is where I derive my user name 'Sollin' from. they mean generally the same thing, though the pronounciation differs slightly. This guy was never my favorite character but he was a plot device I needed for the development of other characters and that gave him a purpose at least.
