Digimon 02 was the first season I watched, and the one I love most dearly. It was the basis of my first ever internet-fandom and the place I met a lot of extremely dear friends I'm still close with today. GOOD OLD TIMES.So a proper tribute is hellishly overdue. Not that I haven't tried in the past, but here's a proper group image with digimon and everything included and stuff
Going to be making prints of this for Otakon 2009! I HAVE A TABLE! Not sure where, yet, but I HAVE one! Give me a shout if you're going, I'll mostly be cosplaying TK anyway, so I'll be all about the Digimons

wow how is it that you and I end up liking most of the same fandoms. I really like Ken and Im a little sad that the rest of the seasons weren't as good as that one.
And Daw now I wish I was going to Otakon. I have a few friends that are going and Ill tell them to look out for your amazingness.

XD I watched them all until the 5th one really it suddenly jumped to a futuristic setting and that got really annoying to me. The 3rd season was okay there was a lot of un-needed angst and the 4th season was boring cute characters though. You could tell the show was going down hill when they put it on at obscure hours of the morning and you have to wake up at 5 am just to watch it.

Even though I'm not a fan of Digimon, I really like this. The composition is really good, and both the digimon and characters are adorable.

Oh man, good times, good times. Digimon was THE defining show in my childhood. Kaiser was definitely epic in season 2. I love darker stuff, and he was the evilest of all. Mmm...nostalgia eating me up. I'm glad Cloud & Meg's WISH oekaki is still running too.
I love the Chibimon censoring of Dai's crotch. XD That's Ken's territory!-->(was it just me or was DaiKen even more blatantly obvious in the show than Taito was in the first season?)

And it seriously was, I mean they had sleepovers and special "best-bud" sessions all the time...it's hard to forget Daisuke screaming and wailing and running after a TRUCK as Ken sits inside whimpering for him, too.

Got to go down memory lane recently thanks to finding both dub and sub episodes.
Good composition, I like all the different poses, like how Cody looks like he's gonna eat Upamon. Also Chibimon jumping in front Daisuke's crotch gets an immature giggle from me. The warm hue to the colors really adds to that cozy feeling of nostalgia.
I don't think I even had an internet yet when this was out, so no internet fandom memories for me. (Though it usually takes me long while to join any kind of group)
I like Digimon as a whole, feeling some ideas worked and some didn't. Though it's hard to put into words on why this ranks high on my season love hierarchy. I think one of the reasons is probably Daiken. Practically all of the Digimon serie(s) have a spotlight hogging duo, but I think this is the only one where I loved both of them. It's a really sweet friendship, that gets me all sentimental whenever I think about it.

Yeah, the official site (funimation, I think?) even put all the original dub episodes online for streaming! That was exciting do discover
And I do agree, I'm a big fan of Matt and Tai, too, but Ken and Daisuke are a huge always-win thing XD I admit the second season being one of my top favorites for TK's development, though, from creepy young child to creepy older child.

It's not all set in stone! But next is probably Gundam Wing, which I'd like to do a proper "general" tribute to but my personal fanthrobbing is angling more towards a 13x5 or 4x2 sort of picture...

I haven't actually watched Gundam Wing, but I've heard a lot about it from friends who have, so I do know the basics. I think you should go with your fan-feelings! Indulge yourself. :3 13x5 sounds intriguing--I don't think I've ever seen any art of those two together.
Yes, I definitely think your own style is shining through here. That's my favorite kind of fanart. I love seeing characters in an artist's own style. Haha, I know what you mean--my original forays into drawing were certainly not as nice to look at. Though at the same time, I think other people's childhood drawings are awesome.
