When he goes on a mission with his father Shiro he becomes a prisoner there with his father. He is smart of how to get out. He figuers out that prisinors are sent out to fight. He preatends to be weak and when they are sent off he fights off the guard and runs away and finds the purple lion in chains. The lion trusted him and escaped with him in a pod. Zarkon couldnt track them and they landed on earth. Reu and Midnight (The purple lion) trained together to gain trust. They then tried to find the pther lions but Midnight couldnt find them. So Reu made weapons and machines that would help with fighting. They made companions with keith and worked together.
