Made while following Imaginatively Unimaginative's tutorial on "How To Draw Protogens" (YouTube), this piece is the one that really got me started drawing things beyond just doodles. Following a few practice attempts at drawing protos on my own, I decided to find a guide that would more efficiently channel my passion. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone in numerous areas, and the skills I learned making this are still part of my process today (well, some of them at least.)Even though I haven't watched the video since, I can still remember that moment when he shifted the position of the leg using the art software, before remembering people might have been following along through traditional art
(I just erased and redrew it lol)Also, I'm pretty sure this guy is singlehandedly responsible for the prevalence of this particular paw style amongst new furry artists, unless it always has been and I just never noticed before. Or maybe it's just confirmation bias, I don't know.
Apologies for the long description, this drawing is just really nostalgic for me.
