Description

Vexus and her small group continued to trek through the snowy wasteland until they finally found what they were looking for, civilization. It was a small town with a road that led into a city far in the distance, but it was better than staying out here exposed to the elements and having their joints freeze. As the moon rose up into the sky they settled into one of the houses and started a fire to warm up and get a frost off of them.

Vexus sat in front of the fire, imagining that she was seeing those worthless humans burn in it, watching XJ9 scream as she melted away, seeing earth and the human race burn to ashes. Oh course, now it would have to take more than destroying earth to kill the human race with how many planets the humans had colonized over the years. After her last battle with XJ9 Vexus flew away, and despite people saying she had disappeared, she had since been keeping a close eye on earth and what the humans had been doing. Especially JcJenson.

At first she decided to pay the company no mind, thinking it wasn’t a point of interest just seeing humans mine other planets. Then she found out about the Worker Dones, and suddenly she had the time to investigate the company. While she was angry to find out robots were mining and being enslaved by humans when it should be the other way around, she also saw opportunity. If she could get to the Worker Drones and talk some reason into them, she could easily get them to turn against the humans and restore her status as a queen, Queen of JcJenson’s Drones. Then once she could build a big enough army with JcJenson’s technology she could get revenge on her daughter Vega and regain control of Cluster Prime, and all robots would bow down to her! Well, except XJ9 and the Disassembly Drones.

When Vexus began her investigations into JcJenson she learned quite a bit about the different drones the company had, even ones that the company kept hidden from the public. The Disassembly Drones being one of them. Killer robotic angels built by humans to kill robots that weren’t working for them, armed with almost as many weapons as XJ9, were very durable and could somehow regenerate and grow limbs allowing them to take multiple heavy hits yet always get back up, and had a big appetite for robot parts and oil. Oh, when she finally gets rid of XJ9, the Disassembly Drones were next.

While his Queen was lost in thought, Smytus looked over at the soldiers and noticed two of them were looking out the window of the house they were in.

Smytus: What are you two looking at?

Soldier 1: I thought I saw something, something moving outside.

Smytus: What did you see?

Soldier 1: I don’t know, it was small and had something on its back.

Smytus: What? Let me see.

Smytus walked over and shoved the two soldiers out of the way before looking out the window. As he looked through it he didn’t see anything. The only thing that was moving outside was the falling snow.

Smytus: Bah, there’s nothing out there.

Soldier: I’m telling you I saw something!

Smytus: Probably just a glitch with your visuals or something.

Smytus walked away from the window and sat by the fire, unaware of a certain purple harried edgy Worker Drone hiding in the shadows next to her two companions.

Uzi: Leave one alive for interrogations, if they have even at least one answer to my many questions they’re worth keeping alive a little longer.

V&N: *nod in understanding before splitting up.*

N flew up and gently landed on the roof, walking carefully so as to not draw attention, while V circled around. Uzi checked and saw her railgun was fully charged and ready to fire.

Uzi: (Okay, it’s charged and ready to fire, please robo god don’t blow up.) *sneaks out of her hiding spot, making sure to stay out of view of the window.*

V got into position near one of the windows and N crouched down on the roof, ready to give air support if things got ugly. All Uzi had to do was give the signal and things would get started. Uzi moved to where she was away from the house, but in view for V to see her. Uzi looked at and gave a thumbs up, seeing that V smiled and switched one of her hands to a grenade launcher and aimed it at the window.

Vexus: sat in front of the fire, lost in her own thoughts, fantasies she had been dreaming of many times before replaying again in her head. Only to soon be interrupted when something broke through the window and landed into the room before rolling on the floor.

Everyone in the room tensed up and looked at the thing that had broken through the window, seeing it looked like a small canister. Next thing they knew the canister exploded causing part of the house they were in to collapse.

Vexus: We’re under attack!

Smytus: Everyone, get ready to defend yourself! We might have to fight our way out.
