Happy (early) 20th anniversary to the greatest Thomas the Tank Engine film ever... well, the only one ever- not counting the direct-to-video ones....... this movie at least had effort put into it... that being said, looking back (and having rewatched it yesterday) it does have it's issues and feels like tow different films trying to be mixed together with other films creeping their way into it (like the horse riding scene being a chick flick or the beach scene being from a comedy). And, yeah..... at times because of this it doesn't feel like the show it's based off (well, the Thomas part, since it's also based off a show called Shining Time Station, which did showed Thomas episodes in them). However, it's also what's cool about it, at least happily surreal and, hey, it is the first attempt at a Thomas cinematic feature, and even with the out-of-placeness, it/they are good on it's own. Maybe it's another case where the show was better, yet it isn't a terrible movie by any means.
