SO, for obvious reasons, mainly because of that ONE production photo- (Sorry if anybody got spoiled for that. I don't considered it a spoiler though since I knew it from the very start.) I am no longer using this headcanon. XD I have thought of better headcanons, now that this is sort of outdated. But hopefully soon I'll show those headcanons off in the future.

Would you call it a reunion when two space creatures, one an echidna and one a hedgehog, are beating each other? I'd say perhaps. This is yet ANOTHER Movie Sonic Headcanon, in celebration of the movie's anniversary, and that awesome Sonic Movie 2 title reveal trailer. Now, we all know how the Sonic Movie started, the echidnas were after Sonic and Longclaw. Mostly Sonic, since he has powers. How does the echidnas know about Sonic having powers?

A few days before the events of Sonic going to Earth, Sonic was running around the island. The Echidnas would be looking for the hedgehog, but this takes place a week after the Echidnas arrived to the island undercover. The Echidnas needed a certain power to survive, since Knuckles' tribe is slowly going extinct. They concluded that the secret to survival is the energy from the sacred Chaos Emeralds. (OH, YES! I said Chaos Emeralds! We'll talk about those in the future, hopefully.) Obviously, the Emeralds could be anywhere, but rumor has it that the Emeralds were underground somewhere, anywhere, separated from each other, all over the island. (By the way, there are only 6 Chaos Emeralds on the island. There are 7 of them, but the seventh one is already on Earth. I wonder where that is? ...Definitely not in Hawaii. ) With enough of that said power, the Echidnas will last. For who knows how long, the tribe have became greedy and impulsive for power. However, not all Echidnas are greedy. The youngest one, and the son of the leader of the tribe, (Who's the dude who shot Longclaw with an arrow.) Knuckles the Echidna, never wanted to be part of an feral tribe hunting for Chaos Energy. When he was young, he liked peace, and the nature that comes with it. He never wanted to hurt nature, or abuse power of any kind, let alone be part of a tribe who loved abusing power. He would be honored to take his father's place to be the future leader of the tribe, but he refused. He never asked to "Control a clan full of monsters." as he says. One day, Knuckles was outside on his own, enjoying the beauty of South Island. Then he saw a blue blur in the distance. Before he could react, this hyper blue hedgehog child zoomed up to the echidna, scaring him. Sonic apologized for startling the now scared echidna, who is hiding behind a giant rock. Sonic eventually encouraged the echidna to come out behind the rock so he can greet him properly. Knuckles was very shy at the time, and barely talks to anyone he doesn't know. But seeing how nice this kid was, he had a small smile on his face. Sonic introduced himself, and hold out his hand to shakes hand with Knuckles'. Knuckles slowly reached out his hand and shook Sonic's hand. For a while, they were talking about their interests. Usually, Knuckles don't take part in long conversations, and since Sonic talks for so long, he thought it'll be uncomfortable. But this time he felt satisfied. It actually felt nice to talk to someone outside his tribe. With that thought in mind, he needed to say something.

"Sonic?" Knuckles said. "What's up?" Sonic looked at Knuckles, smiling. The echidna looked down. "For a while, I had no one to talk to... Almost anyone I knew is almost the same. I mean, I should be like them but I'm nothing like them! I don't WANT to be like them! All they want is the one thing they'll never find. ...You." Sonic took that by surprise. He continued listening to Knuckles. "I don't want them to know who you are. They'll just take away my freedom again. They know what I really want, and they refuse to let me be myself. I didn't ask to be like them..." He choked on his words, but he continued to speak. "You don't know this, but what you have right now is really important. They think it's important. You have what they don't have, and they want to take that away from you. I won't let that happen." Sonic felt concerned for Knuckles. What does he meant by "them?" What so special about his "power?" Knuckles continued. "Sonic, I don't want you to throw away what's keeping you alive." "Knuckles, is there something I need to know?" Sonic asked. "You would hate me if you knew." Those words made Sonic droop. What happened to this kid? "No one knows I'm out here with you. They don't know your here. Don't let anyone know that your out here. Don't tell anyone that you've met me. ...An echidna. A creature I never asked to be... Sonic, I trust you. I trust you to keep this between us. Please, keep your powers safe, and don't let anyone know about them. Keep yourself safe." With those final words, Sonic had no choice but to keep his promise.

"I promise."

Unbeknownst to Knuckles, those were the last words Sonic has ever said to him before he left South Island days later. Once Knuckles had returned to his home, obviously his father was scolding him for being outside on his own. Guess he found out he was gone... Again. His father asked him what he was doing out there. Knuckles refused to talk. Knuckles tried to run to his room, but his father stopped him. He grabbed his arm. The echidna looked at his father, and he said in the most coldest tone he ever said to his father. "Let go of me. NOW." His father did NOT take that kindly. He dragged him to a wall, needing to force out information that his son is hiding. "I never heard such bravery from you before. You're finally waking up." His father said. His tone may sound sweet, but on the inside, he's ready to tear him apart like a hungry lion. "With a voice like that, you must've seen something. What's making you hiding what I need to know, Knuckles?" "None of your business." Knuckles' heart began to pound. He has never stood up to someone, let alone being so harsh to anyone. Especially his father out of all people. "Knuckles, every leader is honest. Don't lie to me." His guilt tripping tone ain't gonna fool Knuckles no more. "I'm not the leader. I'll NEVER be your freaking leader!!" Knuckles raised his voice. He definitely never raised his voice that loudly before. "Son, I don't think your playing FAIR." His father snarled at him. He's slowly going from sweet to sour by this point. "Funny you should say that, father, but nothing is fair. You don't make ANYTHING fair!" Knuckles clenched his fists. "You may be the leader of this hellhole you call the Echidna Tribe, but you WILL realize your cold-hearted ways!" His father grabbed his son's arm, tightly. But not too tight, but tight enough to hurt his arm. "No wonder you don't understand our tribe's pain. You were so focused on the outdoors, and the "innocence" of nature, you forgot what's important. Your family." Knuckles pulled his arm away from his father. "You are NOT my family, and you are NOT important to me. You never were." At the very moment, his father began to snap. He pinned his son to the wall, scaring him. "I'm only going to tell you this once, and you better tell me everything. WHAT DID YOU DO?" "... ..." The small echidna has no escape this time. "...His name is Sonic..." He finally spoke quietly, beginning to cry. "He is my friend... And you will NOT put your hands on him. No matter how hard you try, you are NOT keeping this tribe alive! THIS TRIBE WILL DIE AND YOU KNOW IT!!" His screams echoed the entire hut. His father looked at him coldly. "My own son, a traitor. Now I've seen EVERYTHING." He then slapped Knuckles across the face, causing him to fall to the ground. It was a powerful slap, but he held his head up to look at his "father." "He'll never be a weapon to you all. Even if you do catch him, your tribe will have no hope left!" Knuckles ran off to his room. His father shook his head in annoyance. "Oh, well..." He said calmly. "I suppose not everyone wanted to survive."

After that day, the Echidnas went into hiding all over the island, in search for the blue hedgehog. They did found him, and chased down him and Longclaw. THAT'S where the events of the movie began. The second picture is obviously how the two will meet after ten years. My guess is that Knuckles went to Earth. (I can't come up with a perfect reason. We'll found out eventually.) Sonic and Tails were in the forest looking for that missing Chaos Emerald. (Did you remember that Emerald? XD) Sonic suddenly had a strange feeling. He started to shiver and Tails asked him what's wrong. "Do you have that weird feeling that your not the only ones out here, or is it just me?" That question made Tails VERY nervous. Is someone else looking for the Chaos Emerald?! By the trees, a strange red figure runs by. Sonic took notice of it, and ran off after it. Tails lost sight of Sonic afterwards. Sonic eventually found the figure, and hid behind a tree to take a closer look. It was dark, so he could barely tell who or what it was. He looked closely and can only make out the following: Long red hair, huge fists, and a green scarf. (That scarf also works as a mask.) He kind of recognizes the red hair. It felt nostalgic somehow. Then he remember something. Something that made him shiver in the first place. It's him. It really is him. He's the one who took away his guardian. His hand were shaking uncontrollably, and his breathing got louder. It really is him. After all this time, he thought he'll never see him again. The echidna looked around searching for source of that strange breathing sound. Suddenly... "YOU!!!" A roaring voice came out from behind, and before Knuckles can react, he got tackled by a blue creature. The hedgehog began beating up the echidna. "What the heck are you doing?! Let go of me!" Knuckles shouted. He pushed Sonic's face, causing him to fall on his back. Sonic suddenly began to strike lightning all over his body. When he opened his eyes, his eyes were glowing bright blue, and they were filled with rage and tears. Knuckles can finally make out the person who punched him in the face. It was that hedgehog he met in the past. "SONIC?!" Knuckles thought that Sonic was still on his Island. Knuckles ran away from his home without knowing what happened to Sonic, but he did found out what happened to the Echidnas. They were all wiped out. The two kept fighting. Knuckles wanted to stop the fight, but at the same time, he had a suspicion that Sonic didn't kept his promise. Keeping his power to himself and not have anyone else know. Tails eventually found Sonic after a few minutes, and saw him fighting with Knuckles. (Tails knows a lot about the Echidna Tribe, and he thought Knuckles is a bad guy.) Tails stopped the two, before the fight gets anymore crazier. Sonic growled at Knuckles, and Knuckles just stares at him. Shocked, confused and angry is all the echidna can feel, looking at this hedgehog, covered in lightning.

I would definitely continue the reunion scene. I would love to figure out how Sonic and Knuckles interacted after the fight, and how they would reconcile. But that's a story for another time. By the way, those quotes where from Knuckles. He thought of those words while fighting with Sonic.
