Description
As Sophie rushed in soaking the rain stopped.

“I wish I could appreciate nature more” She said out loud as she went to close the door.

“A strange old woman walking last at that time smiled “I hear your plight my dear” she said to herself “I will grant you your wish” she smiled to herself and clicked her fingers.

As Sophie turned to go back inside her head felt odd heavier and almost like she was full of cold but not. It felt like her skin was scabbing not just in one area but all over!

She scratched the top of her head and it felt rough as she did so her movement became more vigorous and she noted her hair was pulling away in clumps. As she turned to the mirror she gasped in horror not only was she completely bald but her entire skin was now tree bark!

Shocked at the transformation painless as it was she could only stare as her nose began to grow and twist she could no longer smell as it became a branch in the middle of her wooden head. As similar growth began to grow from the side of her head too then third as her head expanded and lost all definition resembling more of a tree trunk than a person’s head. Her clothes spilt as the rest of her torso hardened and became tree trunk. She found it harder bend her arms as the grew wooden and branch like before expanding.

As her feet merged and hardened she realised she was indoors still. Hoping on what was becoming a thick tree base like one giant foot she made it to the door and outside as it started to cloud over again. She got tho the centre of the lawn before ground level branches stretched out to steady her form and hundreds of roots grew out from her former feet anchoring her to the ground and driving deeper though the Earth. She felt energy as they pulled nutrients into her new form. As the trunk widened and more branches grew from it Sophie the tree whilst wanting to feel scared and angry felt relaxed and at peace in this new form. It felt leaves grow on its higher branches and just as it’s last remaining eye closed and became a knot in its wooden form the tree felt rain on its leaves for the first time and it really didn’t mind.
