(Darn now I'm nostalgic for those warm days sitting outside watching May Day celebrations.)

i'm not such which part of this picture is my favorite, but I really like the lose strands of hair on Fluttershy's mane. I think it's a really nice touch.

So you're saying you lived in Hawaii? Hawaii is pretty cool, I lived in O'ahu, and the beaches were great. Don't really know what May Day is though, I was young when living in Hawaii.

Born n' raised. At school we'd have May Day court with a king/queen and a princess/prince representing each island (they'd wear that island's official colors and flowers).

Ahh, cool. Judging from King/Queen I'd guessing it'd be in middle or high school. I was on Oahu in early elementary, so I probably don't remember.

We had it from elementary to high school. In elementary, each class had a hula performance and it was a big deal with many practice sessions to learn the song and moves. In middle school and up only the court (and several of the school clubs) did performances.
Edit: I was at a smaller elementary school so maybe that's why they had time for each class to put on a performance.
Edit2: This was all public school so I dunno about private school May Day.

I know some private school May Days split things up between the high school and the lower schoolsβI know Punahou had a "Holoku" the high schoolers could participate in, while K through 8 had their own "May Day" celebration with a court as well!

That's cool. I don't remember being a part of any of that, but reading the article I may have seen my younger brother doing it, though I'm not certain.
