"Sneak Attack"

The Earth Federation has pushed the Zeon Ground Forces back and has reclaimed an old dug out bunker which had been previously used as a long range artillery emplacement. The Earth Federal Forces have a new prototype, Mobile Suit mounted long range beam cannon. Reclaiming this bunker has given the EFF the perfect position to be in range of a valuable Zeon space port.

The EFF mobile suit, a modified RX-79 EZ8 ground type Gundam, arrives to the bunker with a small support crew. Before they had been able to settle in, a Zeon straggler in for form of an old and heavily beaten up MS-06 Zaku 2, comes limping up the road. The Zaku's sensor array and other critical systems have been damaged, leaving the Zaku's pilot to wander through the territory blindly.

Seeing the Zaku approaching. The Gundam crew must make a cruital decision.

Their first option is to retreat in hopes the Zaku doesnt see them. The experimental beam cannon is heavy and unwieldy, causing the Gundam to be slow and clumsy during close battle.

Their second option is to activate the cannon in hopes of taking out the Zaku before it notices them.

Choosing the latter option, the Gundam crouches into the bunker and activates the micro fusion generator and cooling system in its mounted backpack. Connections berween the back pack and the cannon are confirmed while the support crew takes their places in the surrounding bush. Their plan is to relay hand signals from the road to the gundam in order to tell it when the Zaku is close enough to not have time to react to the pending attack.

As the Zaku enters the Gundam's line of fire, the support crew signals to one another. The Gundam stands and lets loose the charged beam from its cannon. This marks the first and last moment the Zaku is aware of their presence. Having only enough time for the Zaku's mono eye to track right and look in the direction of the Gundam, and simultaneously be struck by the immense pink glowing beam. The intens beam penetrates the shield mounted to the Zaku's right shoulder. Instantly, the beam continues through the arm and like a hot nail through butter, goes through the Zaku's torso and liquid fueled thruster back pack.

This successful attack results in the immediate destruction of the Zaku. With an impressive fireball, the Zaku lights up the forest and sends fire and shrapnel theough out. Luckily for the Gundam's support crew, the Zaku's liquid fuel tanks being empty limited the volatility of the explosion and stopped from setting the forest ablaze. The shrapnel narrily avoided hitting the crew who was taking cover behind some trees.

The Gundam's attack and the Zaku's explosion was enough to get the attention of a distant team of Zeon mobile suits who immediately changed their mission to investigate the sudden happenings. The Gundam must now await a team of RGM-79[G] "GM Ground Types" which have been assigned the roll of protecting the Gundam and its crew.

The loss of this emplacement could spell the difference in the outcome of the one year war for the Earth Federation. Will Zeon successfully attack the Gundam before the GM's arrive? Or will the GM's arrive to save the day in the nick of time?
