Wow, this is so gorgeous. This image caught my eye before i even logged in. I love the texture and contrast. I think it is awesome how the bubble is so clear. Like we are seeing cells dividind, like in miosis. A Life being born, creativity in a small vessel just waiting to be released. Sweet!

That is magic - it looks like you have two people trapped inside. I see what you mean about the comments. You have over two thousand hits on this pic and heaps of favourites but not that much feedback. - but then you would be pretty busy if you had to answer to over two thousand comments

without being too nosey ...would you mind sharing your exact lens set up. I just purchased a canon 100 mm macro f/2.8 ...do you have any tubes or extenders that you used for this shot? Just curious, I would kill for this one ...lol!
Thanks,
Dan

No prob
I never used tubes or extenders, thought it is not a bad idea since 1:1 sometimes fail to get close enough.
I used 1 60w lamp on each side of the drop, and a 100w behind to bring out a glow inside the drop.
blue glitter on a fake feather.
Tripod and timer + manual focus.
Off course, no flash. Flash is not my friend.
Hope that was helpful.

I did my usual post processing, but i get a lot of questions about manip ( adding things, and bending shapes ), so i had to ad it in the description

This is an icredible shot--the colors are absolutely exquisite. I can just imagine how careful you had to be when you were leaning in to get the shot.
Is it a peacock feather that it's resting on?
