It had been Seven long, cold years since Mikey was murdered. Emelia "Emmy" Carter had long since dropped her old Tomboyish habits: her spirit of adventure had died with her best friend.
Now one among the "nobody's" of St. Peter's High, Emmy was trying to get through her last years of school without being picked up by the social wrath of the Cheerleaders.

all of that changed when she was partnered on her history project with the new student:
Lucas Ferlusci. possessing an eerily particular knowledge of history, a suave demeanor that bordered on contempt....and a strange sway over the girls of the school.

Now Emmy will find herself thrust into a world of fear, intrigue, religious trials, sexual tension...and murder.

Supported by her mothering friend Mary, informed by the strange musician Sam...and aided by a boy who bears a disturbingly similar appearance to her long-lost friend, Emmy will face the fight of her life...and for her life...
