Description
7,62mm automatic rifle (fictional, of course). Easy to use, reliable in field conditions and inexpensive to produce. 20 or 30 rds magazine-fed, gas operated, air cooled. Weights about 3,5 kg with empty magazine inserted.
Originally developed by USA-based private company "Stingray MFG" in mid-1930s, whose eccentric owner chose not to obtain any kind of patent for the design, instead opting for "competition to settle it out". So, it became widely copied and used by the armies from throught both Western\NATO, Comintern\Warsaw Pact and Non-Aligned countries.
