UPDATE: Made some tweaks to his face and shoulders.Nope. Not the Barricade from G1. It's a G1-esque version of the one that gained popularity for his appearances in the Bayformers franchise.

Prior to the start of the civil war that ended Cybertron's Golden Age of peace and prosperity, Barricade worked as an Autobot police officer. Few knew that he was rather corrupt individual that was involved in an illegal slave trade and also dabbled in smuggling contraband.
Barricade saw the young Megatron as a visionary and pledged his allegiance to the future tyrant. He ran the day-to-day events of Megatron's gladiatorial ring/revolutionary movement/emerging army while maintaining secrecy as he continued policing the streets of Cybertron until the Decepticon uprising occurred, where he showed his true colors.
The traitorous fiend now works as one of Megatron's top enforces and lieutenants, commanding the Decepticon's vast army of shock troopers.
