Description
Workflow for my sketch, this is usually enough for me to start working on 3D model.1) Establish silhouette. I used to start with shapes and skeletons (stick figure), but I discovered that starting with silhouette allowed me to go nuts with shape and composition, great for experiments. The old method is still quite efficient though, if you know already how the final product will look like.
2) Add highlight and shadow, then line tracing for final touch. At this point you can usually tell that some parts are a bit off by scale or perspective. You can always corrected it before you move on to final phase
3) Colour coordination and final adjustment. The colour will bring changes to the way your mech look and feel and it still much easier to do it in 2D than in 3D. Use plenty of layers and adjust hue and saturation until you are happy with it.

very nice
interesting to see how you do
sometimes i just scribble random forms onto the paper and look if theres a (partial) mech in there that i can extract on the next page.
